Some more random observations

STATEROOMS on the Queen Elizabeth

Some of the cruise critcs and passenger critiques have made made the following complaints.

1) The staterooms in the Britannia Class are not luxurious... Well, maybe not, but they are attractive, well appointed, especially with wall and overhead lighting! Very nice carpeting and plain but functional furnishings. The overall effect for me is... tasteful. We have a love seat in the stateroom, big enough for two people and it doubles as a 3rd bed. For Susan it is not very comfortable. For me, it is OK.

2) The bathrooms are too small.... Well, yes, they are small, but this is a ship... not a Hilton hotel or your own home bathroom with its double sinks with granite countertops and jacuzzi tub and separate shower. Of course if you have those at home, than you might be able to afford a Queen's Suite on this ship. I think the bathrooms are very well dsigned and efficient for one person. There is a good shower with a good shower head. the toilet is well placed, and the sink has plenty of storage space, on the wall and below.

3) Storage for clothing and luggage.. This has been a complaint ever since the Queen Victoria entered service in 2007, but these staterooms have pretty much configuration as those on the Queen mary 2. There IS enough drawers space, closet space for hanging stuff and there is ample room under the bed for stashing the suitcases to get them out of the way. Cunard added two drawers under the foot of the bed and we have not used them!

The only other complaint we had... it has been resolved... we do not like european duvet covers. The material inside the thing is too hot. But asked Nelly, our cabin stewardess for a lighter blanket to be placed inside, and that did the trick.

As, I may have said, earlier, our balcony is very big even for our stateroom category. And it is much larger than the balconies on the new Royal Princess of Princess Cruises.  That is our balcony below with enough room for the 3 chairs and a table. By the way, we prop the balcony door open at night for fresh air.
