After breakfast, we checked out of our rooms at 10am, our checked luggage was collected for us and we stored our hand luggage in the luggage storage room of the hotel. we went for a walk in the Borghese Park, but about 1/2 hour into it, yours truly began to feel a bit woozy ( the sun was very strong) so we went back to the hotel and waited with the other 18 folks from our hotel. Boarded the bus just after noon and headed to pick up 8 more passengers at the Crowne Plaza Hotel across town. Then headed out of time and on to the motorway for a relaxing drive north to the port city of Civitaveccia. Security and checking went very quickly, and our checked luggage was waiting for us when we entered our stateroom. Stateroom 6151 is on deck 6, starboard side of the ship and only steps from the aft lift and staircase. It is only 4 flights down to the Britannia Resataurant and 3 flights up to the Lido deck. The stateroom itself is larger than others in the category and has amuch large balcony which gives us a view looking forward and out starboard. This is actually the largest balcony we haves had on the three cruises we have taken. The room itself is very nice. The bathroom, while small is just fine. And there is enought drawer and closet space for everything we need.
Shortly after dumping our stuff, we went up to the Lido Restaurant for a light and late lunch. Then we took a tour of the ship.the main entertainment areas are on decks 2 and 3 and on decks 9 and 10. The games deck - croquet, lawn bowling and paddle tennis - is on deck 11 forward. The ship has a two level library with a spiral staircase. Cunard still believes in nice and well stocked libraries. The treadmills in the gym have a forward view of the sea. And the massage rooms have windows overlooking the sea.
There are two outdoor pools on deck 9 - one mid ships and one aft. Pictures will follow after we have taken some. Dinner tonight is at 6:30... Normally it will be at 6:00. Apparently a sprinkler went off this afternoon.
Following are some photos taken inside the ship:

We had an excellent dinner in the Britannia Restaurant and met two of our 4 table mates. After dinner we attended the Welcome Aboard show with our Entertainment Director and all the entertainers on board.
Tomorrow we arrive in Salerno, Italy and will tour Pompeii.
