Salerno & Pompeii - Thursday, 17 October, 2013

Salerno, Italy from our balcony on the starboard side of the Queen Elizabeth

From here, after breakfast, we went to Pompeii, destroyed in AD 79 by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius.

It was not the lava flow that buried this city; it was the ash.
